At Encompass Fitness, we love seeing you walk through our doors as much as peanut butter loves jelly. However, with the increasing number of cases due to the pandemic, we understand that not everyone is comfortable coming out. That being said, our team would hate to see all of your hard work put aside. With these helpful tips, you can continue burning and building with these achievable goals with these at-home Massachusetts fitness moves (until you are comfortable coming back to us, of course)!
Burpees
When working out at home, time is usually of the essence. With distractions each way you look, having a full-body strengthening exercise like the burpee comes in handy. With every rep, you will work your arms, chest, quads, glutes, hamstrings, and core muscles. And we haven’t even mentioned the intense bursts of cardio!
If you only have a few minutes to dedicate to yourself, let the burpee be the winner. Not sure about the movement? Check out this video.
Squats
If you’re looking for a lower body focus, squats are your solution. Targeting your quadriceps, hamstrings, calves, abs, lower back, and glutes, you’ll want to start slowly and build up your repetitions. Aim for three sets of 12-15 reps of at least one type of squat. Of course, you can mix up your routine by incorporating different types of squats:
- Front squats
- Back squats
- Single leg squats
- Wide stance squats
Planks
For many, the core is a focus area. However, exercises that focus on your core basically work your whole body. For example, a plank strengthens your spin, rhomboids, trapezius, and abdominal muscles – all muscles that help develop strength and promote excellent posture.
Jump Rope
Depending on the space at hand, jumping rope is always an excellent option. Aim for 2 to 3 minutes, take a break, and have a go again if you’re feeling motivated! Jumping rope burns calories, promotes stronger bones, and works the quads, hamstrings, glutes, abdominals, forearms, and deltoids!
No matter what you chose to do at home, remember stretching is of the essence! At Encompass Fitness, our team is committed to fitness in Massachusetts. For more information on memberships, classes, and other offerings, contact our team today at (508) 481-2294.
