Chances are, you’ve heard of a kettlebell workout by now. If not, you don’t know what you’ve been missing! Kettlebells are weights with handles that provide a seriously high-intensity workout. An individual will burn around 20 calories per minute in most routines – around the same as running a six-minute mile. As intimidating as this may sound for those at the early stages of their wellness journey, personal training in MA almost always relies on this tool.
Achieving the right routine comes through assessment, monitoring, and having a trained team to assist with technique and motivation. Here, at Encompass Fitness, you’ll find just that. Support, combined with the flexibility provided by kettlebells, is a guaranteed way to kickstart, reach, and maintain your fitness goals. In this article, we’re looking at two reasons why you need to consider incorporating kettlebells into your routine.
Strength building – and fast
As mentioned, a perfectly designed kettlebell workout is equivalent to running a six-minute mile. Pretty impressive by anyone’s standards. Especially when you consider the fastest recorded pace of marathon runner Kenenisa Bekele, who ran a 4:41.6 pace.
Fun fact – kettlebells were originally designed in the 18th century as crop weights for farmers. However, with the clearly noticeable physical benefit, the kettlebell quickly drew the attention of bodybuilders for both strength and conditioning. In 1913, trainer Ludvig Chaplinsky wrote in a Russian magazine, “not a single sport develops our muscular strength and bodies as well as kettlebell athletics.”
They provide a full-body workout
A significant benefit of a kettlebell workout is that your full body is incorporated into a single workout within twenty minutes. The combination of cardio and strength saves you time while accomplishing goals that many take hours per day to achieve.
With squats, lunges, single-arm rows, and other moves, you can have confidence that your core, arms, legs, back, and glutes will all be thanking you.
At Encompass Fitness, our MA personal training team takes the time to understand your needs. After an initial assessment, we’ll create a plan that helps you reach your fitness goals.!
